Today I would like to introduce you to the company called DeBoles who makes all-natural and organic pasta. This company has been in business since 1932 and offers an extensive line of pastas in a variety of shapes and flavors. All of the DeBoles pastas are rich in vitamins & minerals, high in protein & fiber and there are whole-grain and gluten-free varieties available.
My Review: The generous folks over at DeBoles sent me a coupon to go pick up a free box of DeBoles pasta so I selected a box of the Organic Spinach Spaghetti Style Pasta that is made with Jerusalem Artichoke Flour. This product is certified USDA organic. On the box of pasta was a recipe for the Spaghetti with Broccoli Rabe, Garlic and Olive Oil so I decided to make that recipe for the review. I posted the recipe here on my blog ---> HERE.
After making the recipe we sat down to eat our pasta dish and wow...we were pleasantly surprised at how delicious this recipe was and I contribute a lot of that to the Spinach Spaghetti Style Pasta from DeBoles that we used to make it. The pasta cooked up within minutes and had a wonderful taste to it. I bet this pasta would make a wonderful cold summer pasta salad too! We give this product a huge two thumbs up and we will be purchasing more of it to try out in other pasta recipes.
Giveaway: One lucky winner is going to win a coupon to pick up any variety of DeBoles Organic Pasta up to $2.50 in value. This coupon will be sent to you via postal mail within a few days after winning the giveaway.

Review and Giveaway | Make Your Own Chocolate Kit by Glee Gum!
Today I would like to introduce to you the great company called Glee Gum who makes All Natural Chewing Gum and All Natural Candy Making Kits that both adults and children will enjoy. The all natural Glee Gum is available in 6 yummy flavors so there is certainly a flavor that you would enjoy if you are a gum chewer. Today I am reviewing for all of you the Glee Gum All Natural Make Your Own Chocolate Kit.
The Make Your Own Chocolate Kit includes: certified organic cocoa butter, cocoa powder, confectioner's sugar, starter crystals, a temperature indictor strip, paper candy liners, instructions on how to make the candy which also include a story of chocolate an everything comes neatly packaged in a small box.
Once I got the kit I read over the instructions and invited my nephew over so that he could help me. C is 12 years old and loves to be in the kitchen with his mom so I knew he would love making this project with me. We laid everything out onto my counter and decided to make it stove-top with a double boiler pan but you can also use a microwave oven.We started out by melting the organic cocoa butter in the double boiler and after it was smooth and creamy we stirred in the cocoa powder & confectioner's sugar. We then heated it up again according to the directions and then removed it from the heat. We placed the temperature indicator strip on the outside of our pan and waited for our mixture to cool down to the recommend 94 degree temperature that is needed to make a smooth and creamy chocolate.
While we waited for the mixture to cool we prepared the paper candy liners and we added mini marshmallows to a few of those. Once it reached the 94 degree temperature we stirred in 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract and the starter crystals and continued to stir the mixture until it was smooth and creamy.
We then spooned the chocolate mixture into the candy liners and placed our baking sheet into the refrigerator for 15 minutes so that the chocolate candies firmed up. Once firm...we sat down to enjoy our new chocolate confections. We had 5 adults and 1 child taste test them and everyone agreed that they are yummy and delicious! The entire process from start to finish took us about 70 minutes. This is a fabulous product as it teaches older children how to make candy, how to measure out & stir ingredients, how combining a few ingredients together makes a delicious product and frankly...it was just plain fun!Giveaway: One lucky winner is going to win their choice of candy making kit from Glee Gum! You can choose Make Your Own Chocolate, Make Your Own Gummies or Make Your Own Gum. The kits can be purchased from their web site for $13.00.

Review and Giveaway | Delicious Pretzels By H.K. Anderson
Today with great pleasure I get to bring to you products that are made here in my home state of Pennsylvania made by the great company called H.K. Anderson and around these parts...they are famous for making delicious pretzel products! The company is based out of Lancaster, Pennsylvania and the company has been in business since 1888 when they opened their first bakery in the city of Lancaster.
My Review: The generous folks over at H.K. Anderson sent me a box of pretzels with 4 variety packs inside. I received one bag of each of these 4 flavors: Salty Stix, Peanut Butter Nuggets, Double Baked Butter Balls and Honey Wheat Braids. As soon as the package arrived my hubby was in the bag grabbing out some of the Salty Stix as that is his absolute favorite pretzel. The Salty Stix are thin stick shaped pretzels with a lot of salt...so they are for you salt lovers for sure! He sat down to watch a movie and demolished the bag quickly. I decided to go for the Peanut Butter Nuggets which are nugget shaped pretzels filled with creamy peanut butter. After just one taste...I was in pure heaven! The peanut butter is absolutely delicious..soft, smooth & creamy just the way I like it. The nugget (pretzel) was not brick hard but crunchy with a little salt so it was the perfect blend of flavors.
The following day we had a few friends over so I poured the Double Baked Butter Balls and Honey Wheat Braids into bowls and left my guests snack on them. The Double Baked Butter Balls are round ball-shaped pretzels with a super sweet buttery taste to them. They were a huge hit with our guests. The Honey Wheat Braids are stick-shaped braided pretzels with a delicious honey taste to them. These pretzels were not too sweet but yet they weren't boring...beautiful lightly sweet taste of honey made them perfect!
Overall Impression: Everything tasted delicious and like they were freshly made! I loved the combination of flavors that these pretzels come in which leaves your taste buds totally satisfied when it comes to munching on a great pretzel snack. We love H.K. Anderson Pretzels and have been purchasing them for years and we think you will love them too!
Giveaway: One lucky winner is going to win a box of H.K. Anderson pretzels and inside your box will be the same 4 bags of pretzels that I got to review. These are individual snack size bags that will feed up to two snackers at a time and retail for approximately $1.79 per bag.

Product Review | Scott's Liquid Gold For Cleaning Your Kitchen's Wood Surfaces
Today I would like to introduce you to the company called Scott's Liquid Gold and this year the company is celebrating their 60th anniversary in the business. The company makes a variety of high-quality cleaning products that are affordably priced.
Today I am reviewing for all of you the Scott's Liquid Gold Wood Wipes that are pre-moistened polishing cloths that you can use on all of your wooden tables, kitchen cabinets, wooden chairs, curio cabinets, etc. We have 3 year old kitchen cabinets and a 5 year old wooden hutch in our kitchen and they get dirty and dusty often so I was really excited to put this product to the test in my kitchen. The 20 pre-moistened wipes come in a pop-top canister so they are very easy to remove from the package. As I pulled my first wipe out of the canister I quickly saw how generously sized the wipes were and I liked their "thickness". I quickly got busy polishing up all of the cabinets in my kitchen and then moved on to the hutch and baker's rack. The polishing wipes did a great job at collecting up all of the dirt and dust that had accumulated on them and even removed fingerprints. There was no stinky odor coming from the cloths which I appreciated and they didn't irritate my hands as I used them. It took me about 20 minutes to go over all of the wood surfaces in my kitchen and then I was done.
Overall Impression: I was really pleased with how well the wipes collected up all of the dust and dirty and trapped it in the disposable cloth and I appreciated that there was no stinky odors coming from the cloth. (you know what I mean, some cleaning products stink but this one had a light pleasant odor). There was no oily residue left on any of my wood surfaces after I polished them so I was definitely impressed with that. I think my only issue was that the cloths dried out way too quickly as I was using them. It took 3 cloths to do my entire kitchen as they kept drying out on me. I am not sure if that is because it is 95 degrees here or what...other than that, I give this product 8 stars out of 10 stars and would recommend it to you.
I would like to thank Scott's Liquid Gold for participating in this product review. You can follow Scott's Liquid Gold over on Facebook and/or Twitter.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
Maintaining Bone Health By Eating Spinach
Spinach has been popular in cooking for hundreds of years and can be traced back to the 16th Century and most likely originated from India.
Why is Spinach so popular?
1. It's a good source of: iron, calcium, magnesium, vitamin A, vitamin B-6, vitamin C, vitamin K and potassium.
Eating spinach is essential to maintaining good bone health since it is high in vitamin K. As we age, our bones become brittle, it's just part of the natural aging process. You can slow down this process by incorporating foods that are high in vitamin k, vitamin D and calcium into your daily diet.
2. Spinach is readily available out in the market place and it's easily grown at home.
Spinach can be found: canned, frozen or fresh and in a variety of package sizes.
Now that we know that spinach is good for us, what can you make with spinach?
Here are a few of my favorite spinach recipes.
Party Dip
1 packet Ranch salad dressing mix
1 (10 ounce) bag frozen spinach
1 c. mayonnaise
1 (8 ounce) container sour cream
1 (8 ounce) block cream cheese
1 1/2 c. shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 c. chopped green onions
Let spinach thaw. Remove cream cheese from refrigerator and let it set at room temperature for 20 minutes to soften. Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl until well blended. Refrigerate for 2 hours before serving. You can serve this dip with crackers, raw vegetables, chips or party breads.
Healthy Fresh Salad
1 lb. fresh spinach
1 sm. red onion, sliced into rings
3 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
Remove stems from spinach, wash leaves and pat dry. Tear or chop into bite-size pieces. Combine fresh spinach with sliced onions, eggs and crumbled bacon. Top with the following dressing.
Dressing:
1 sm. onion, chopped
1 c. olive oil
1/3 c. white vinegar
1/3 c. granulated sugar
1 Tbsp. yellow mustard
1 tsp. celery seeds
1/2 tsp. salt
Combine all of the above ingredients together in a medium sized bowl. Mix until well blended. Use this dressing on top of your spinach salad.
Creamy Soup
1 (10 ounce) bag frozen spinach
1 c. milk (I use 2% milk)
1 can cream of chicken soup
optional: shredded cheddar cheese
Thaw out your frozen spinach by letting it sit in a colander so that the liquid drains. In a large saucepan combine your milk, cream of chicken soup and your drained frozen spinach. Simmer on low for 10 minutes, stirring often and then serve. Do not use high heat or you will scorch the milk. If you like cheese, you can sprinkle a little cheese on top.

Review and Giveaway | Better Than Bouillon 6 Pack Giveaway
I am so excited about today's foodie review and giveaway that I am doing the happy dance here in my own home! Today I am going to talk to you about a product called Better Than Bouillon made by a company called Superior Touch out of the great state of California.
Better Than Bouillon is a concentrated paste that is primarily made out of meat, seafood or vegetables. This gives the product a richer, more natural flavor than ordinary icky bouillon cubes or bouillon granules that most of us are used to using.
I was recently sent 3 jars of Better Than Bouillon to try out for all of you. I received the Reduced Sodium Beef Base, the Reduced Sodium Chicken Base and the regular Turkey Base. To use these bouillon bases you simply dissolve 1 teaspoon of the base in 8 ounces of boiling water. Once it is dissolved you use it just like any bouillon stock.
I first used the Better Than Bouillon Chicken Base to make a huge pot of homemade chicken potpie for my family's dinner a few nights ago. I followed my normal recipe but used this base in the amount called for in my recipe once I dissolved it as explained above. I then served the potpie to my family and everyone agreed it was a hit! Normally we find most bouillon's too salty...especially chicken bouillon's but this was absolutely perfect and it tasted fabulous!
The following day I placed a large beef roast into my crockpot along with some chopped onions, carrots, green peppers, potatoes and onions and that day I used the Better Than Bouillon Beef Base to make a nice "beef" broth for my roast to slow cook in. About 6 hours later I got everything out of the crockpot and served it to my family. Again, everyone loved the dinner. My husband who loves beef couldn't get over how juicy our beef roast was and how delicious it tasted. This was his favorite bouillon that we tried!
I didn't get a chance to use the Better Than Bouillon Turkey Base just yet but in a week or so I am going to make some home turkey dumplings and use it and I am sure it will taste just as delicious as the two we have already tried!
We highly recommend the Better Than Bouillon products to you! I will never go back to using bouillon cubes, canned bouillon or bouillon granules again! These products are awesome and they are better than the other stuff we used to use!
Giveaway: One lucky winner is going to win a variety pack of Better Than Bouillon Bases! This pack will contain 6 full size jars! yeah!!!! Retail Value $35.00.

Old-Fashioned Chicken Pot Pie Recipe by San Giorgio
If you love a great old-fashioned chicken pot pie I would like to suggest you try out the classic Old-Fashioned Chicken Pot Pie Recipe by San Giorgio! This one happens to be our favorite! Instead of using bouillon cubes we prefer to use Better Than Bouillon Low-Sodium Chicken Base.
San Giorgio Old-Fashioned Pot Pie Recipe
3 lb. chicken pieces
12 cups water
3 chicken bouillon cubes
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
salt and ground black pepper to taste
2 cups diced peeled potatoes
1 1/2 cups sliced carrots (we omit them)
1 cup diced celery
1 cup diced onion
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1 pkg. (12 ounce bag) San Giorgio Pot Pie Bows, uncooked
*note* instead of using bouillon cubes we used Better Than Bouillon Chicken Base (3 teaspoons dissolved in 24 ounces of boiling water)
In a large saucepan, place chicken, water, bouillon cubes & seasonings; heat to a boiling. Reduce heat, simmer for 45 minutes. Remove chicken; set aside. Skim fat from both. Add potato, carrot, celery & onion; heat to a boiling. Cook for 5 minutes. Stir in the remaining ingredients; boil for 14 minutes or until bows are tender. Remove chicken from bone; cut into 1 1/2" pieces. Stir chicken into pot pie mixture; heat through. This recipe makes 6-8 servings.

Insider Tips From a Premier Caterer: Summer Barbecues
Hamburgers and steaks are the all-American mainstays of summer barbecues. This season, grill up these favorites with international flavors. Ms. Ricky Eisen, premier New York caterer for more than 30 years and founder of Between the Bread, offers simple ways for you to spice up your next summer soiree.
· Simply mix your favorite spices with olive oil and salt into a thin (brushable) paste. Brush on the hamburgers or steaks when grilling the second side. Tip: You can hold off on flavoring the first side, as the meat may get stuck on the grill and be hard to clean.
· Add more flair by putting toothpick flags of the countries represented in the meat when grilling is done.
· Before guests arrive, caramelize onions and peppers in a sauté pan with a bit of salt and oil. The aroma will smell great as guests arrive and they make for great toppings.
Suggested Flavors to Enhance Barbecue Fare:
· Curry paste to add Indian flavor
· Cayenne or hot pepper and cilantro for a South-of-the Border influence
· Paprika and garlic for an Eastern European twist
· Lemon and garlic for a Greek-inspired meal
· Hummus or tahini for Middle Eastern taste
Seasonal Side that will “Wow” Guests:
Place local corn (husk and all) on the grill for approximately 10 minutes, rotating the corn until most of the husk is lightly charred. Keebler Magic Raspberry Cookie Bars Recipe
A few weeks ago I purchased a box of Keebler's Graham Cracker Crumbs and on the back of the box was this recipe for their Magic Raspberry Cookie Bars. A few days later I decided to make the recipe for my family who gave it a big two thumbs up!
Keebler's Magic Raspberry Cookie Bars Recipe
2 cups Keebler Graham Cracker Crumbs
1/4 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. margarine or butter, melted
1 can 14 oz. sweetened condensed milk
1 1/4 c. seedless red raspberry preserves
1 1/3 c. flaked coconut
1 c. chopped pecans
In a small bowl, combine together the graham cracker crumbs & sugar. Add in the margarine or butter. Toss until moistened. Press onto the bottom of a 9 x 13" baking pan. Evenly drizzle sweetened condensed milk over the crumbs. Refrigerate for 10 minutes. Spoon the raspberry preserves over the top. Sprinkle with coconut & chopped pecans. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool and then cut them into bars. Store in an airtight container.
Makes approximately 24 bars.

Review and Giveaway | Steak Rub Grilling Blend by BKW Seasonings
Today I would like to introduce you to the company called BKW Seasonings which is a family owned business which got it's start back in the early 1960's. Then in 1997 the family opened a local restaurant near the University of Tennessee campus called Big Kahuna Wings and just 2 weeks after opening the restaurant they competed against 29 local, regional and state restaurants in the "War of the Wings" contest and was voted the "Best" wings in Knoxville. Since that time the company has developed several seasonings and seasoning blends for all of us to purchase and enjoy in our own homes.
My Review: The generous folks over at BKW Seasonings sent me their BKW Steak Rub to review for all of you. My husband who loves to do outdoor and indoor grilling was super excited to receive this seasoning to try out for all of you. The BKW Steak Rub is a grilling blend that enhances the flavor of your steak, while adding a rustic appearance and that "Big Kahuna" texture. It can also be used on fish, veal and vegetables too!
My hubby brushed our steaks with some olive oil and then sprinkled on a teaspoon of the seasoning per steak and then grilled them. Once our steaks were done, we sat down to enjoy our meal. The steak rub gave our steaks a nice smoked, pepper and onion taste that was out of this world! Seriously...you will toss out your current steak rub once you try this one! (hubby trashed our steak rub that we have used for 8 years because he loves the BKW Steak Rub a lot more!). This steak rub is fabulous and later this week..we are going to grill some chicken quarters and use this rub again! We highly recommend this product and this company to you!

Review and Giveaway | Fiber One 80 Calories Cereal Prize Pack Giveaway!
Today's foodie review and giveaway is sponsored by General Mills and the great folks over at MyBlogSpark. Today I am going to talk to you about Fiber One 80 Calories Cereal in their delicious Honey Squares flavor.
The Fiber One Honey Squares Cereal is only 80 calories per serving and each serving contains 10 grams of fiber which is 40% of the fiber you need on a daily basis. This is a delicious cereal which is perfect for everyone...especially those who are trying to manage their weight. Each crunchy square is lightly sweetened and every bowl contains 40% of the daily value of fiber which helps you feel satisfied, which makes it easier to stick to a reduced calorie diet and lose weight without feeling as hungry. It's the perfect way to start your day and it makes for a great snack choice when you get the munchies.
I measured out 3/4 of a cup of cereal and used a 1/2 cup of skim milk along with a few freshly sliced strawberries so the total calorie count for my bowl of breakfast cereal was only 145 calories! yeah! Once I had it ready I sat down to eat my breakfast and I was pleasantly surprised at how crunchy the cereal was and it had a fabulous light honey taste to it which made it sweet and tasty! It took me about 12 minutes to eat my cereal and it stayed crunchy the entire time! yeah! (I am not a fan of tasteless soggy cereals!) For the past few days both my husband and I have been enjoying this box of Fiber One Cereal and we think it tastes fantastic and we are looking forward to going out to the store to purchase more...plus you can find Fiber One Cereal in a few additional flavors too...so surely there is a flavor to appeal to everyone's individual taste buds. I love how this cereal fills me up so I feel full and I am not snacking on things before lunch! We give it a HUGE 2 thumbs up!
I also received a handy dandy 3D Pedometer with USB which is really cool since I belong to a local mom's walking group and now I can use the pedometer to track how far we walk. I love the small size on this pedometer as it fits easily into my fanny pack that I wear when walking. I also received a Fiber One iPod/Smart Phone holder in an orange color with black trim and it wraps around your arm with a hook & loop closure...so now you can carry your iPod or Smart Phone around with you hands-free! Love it!

Delicious Homemade Carrot Pecan Bread Recipe
I love this carrot bread recipe that I got several years ago from my great aunt and I think you will love it too! It will make 1 full-size loaf of bread and will keep for 3-4 days once baked.
Homemade Carrot Pecan Bread Recipe
1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped pecans
2 large eggs
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extrat
1 1/2 cups finely chopped or grated carrots
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease your loaf pan. In a large mixing bowl combine together the flour, baking soda, ground cinnamon and salt, stir in the finely chopped pecans, set aside. Place eggs, granulated sugar, vegetable oil and vanilla extract into a blender container and process until ingredients are combined (or place them in a bowl and use a hand mixer). Add the finely chopped carrots to the wet ingredients and combine until well mixed together. Slowly blend the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until everything is well mixed together. Pour your bread batter into your prepared loaf pan and bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 45-55 minutes or until done. Cool before serving.

Foodie Review | Beecher's Handmade Flagship and Flagship Reserve Cheeses
Today I would like to introduce you to the gourmet food company called Beechers Handmade Cheese which has been in business since 2003. The company has two retail locations, one in Seattle at the Pike Place Market and the other one is in New York in the Flatiron District. All of the artisan cheeses that Beecher's sells are made by expert cheese makers.
Beecher's Handmade Cheese sells a variety of delicious gourmet cheeses such as Flagship Cheese, Just Jack Cheese, Marco Polo Cheese, Fresh Curds, Honey Cheese, etc. In addition you will find delicious handmade frozen side dishes all made with their wonderful cheese like World's Best Mac & Cheese, Mariachi Mac & Cheese, Fresh Kale and Brown Rice Gratin and Smoky Roasted Vegetable Cavatappi. When you have the munchies and want a great tasting snack you will find Beecher's Honey Nut Crackers, their Flagship crackers, Anjou Bakery Fruit Nut Crostini and several other products!
My Review: The great folks over at Beecher's Handmade Cheese sent me 4 packages of their cheese to try out in 2 different flavors. We received the Beecher's Flagship Cheese and the Beecher's Flagship Reserve Cheese. For those of you wondering how your perishable food products are shipped from Beecher's I am going to show you! Your items are carefully packed into an inflatable cooler along with several ice packs and then the entire cooler is sealed up and placed into a shipping box. Once it arrives to your home or business...you simply unseal the cooler and take your items out. When mine arrived everything was still frozen solid including the ice packs!
The Beecher's Flagship Cheese is their signature cheese that has won numerous awards. In 2007 it won the American Cheesemaker Award for Best Semi-Hard Cow's Milk Cheese and in 2009 it won 2nd Place in the Aged Cheddars category from the American Cheese Society. This cheese has a unique robust nutty flavor to it and is carefully aged for 18 months before it is ready for the consumer. This cheese is available for purchase for $20.00 which includes two 8 ounce blocks of cheese.
The Beecher's Flagship Reserve Cheese is a special version of their signature flagship cheese and it won the 2007 America's Best Cheddar Award from the American Cheese Society. This cheese has a rich taste and texture to it while maintaining a creamy finish. This cheese is sold in 1 lb. portions for only $25.00.
Along with the cheese items Beecher's sent us a package of their Beecher's Original Crackers that have a rich, buttery but yet nutty taste to them. They go perfect with cheese! These crackers can be purchased from them for $5.00 per package.
I sliced down the cheeses and made 2 different cheese and cracker plates for us to sample the goodies. I sent one plate into my husband's office for them to snack on during their work breaks and the other we kept here for us to snack on. The artisan cheeses are absolutely delicious on their own and they are equally delicious with the crackers that they sent. In addition, I cut some of their cheese up into small chunks and we threw the cheese on top of our salads last night for dinner and WOW....that really "perked" up our salads and turned them into gourmet salads! All of the products that we sampled were delicious and tasted super fresh unlike the cheese you purchase at your local supermarket. Seriously foodie lovers...the Beecher's Cheeses are some of the best I have ever eaten and all of the employees at hubby's office also agree with my opinion because later on in the day...hubby stopped home & wanted to know if we had any cheese left as the employees wanted more!
We give the Beecher's Handmade Cheese products a huge 10 stars out of 10 stars on our rating scale. I do not believe you could find better American-Made cheese anywhere! We recommend the Beecher's Gourmet Artisan Cheeses to you! You can purchase them online or at one of their two retail locations. We would like to thank Beecher's for participating in this product review. You can follow them on Facebook and on Twitter to keep up to date with company and product news!
